RCC Hume Pipe NP3

IS 458 certified NP3 class RCC hume pipe for heavy-duty urban drainage, road culverts and sewerage networks. The most commonly specified class for municipal and highway projects.

RCC Hume Pipe NP3

Himalaya RCC Hume Pipe NP3 is the most widely specified class for urban drainage infrastructure and highway culvert applications across India. NP3 class pipes meet IS 458 requirements for heavy-duty external loads including road crossings under standard vehicular traffic and moderate burial depths. The heavier wall section compared to NP2 provides the additional structural capacity required for municipal roads, urban sewerage networks and NHAI state highway culverts. Produced by the centrifugal spinning process using M30 grade concrete with HYSD bar reinforcement. Available in 150mm to 2200mm diameters covering the full range of urban and highway drainage requirements. Spigot-and-socket rubber ring joints ensure watertight installation throughout the drainage system.

Frequently Asked Questions

NP2 is light duty, suited for agricultural irrigation and low-traffic residential drainage. NP3 is heavy duty and the most commonly specified class for urban storm water drainage, municipal sewerage and road culverts. NP4 is extra heavy duty for major highway culverts, railway embankments and deep burial conditions where maximum structural performance is mandatory.
All Himalaya RCC hume pipes are manufactured to IS 458, the Indian Standard for precast concrete pipes (non-pressure). Each NP class has specific dimensional, wall thickness and structural requirements. Himalaya exceeds minimum requirements by using higher concrete grades - M25 for NP2, M30 for NP3 and M35–M40 for NP4.
Himalaya hume pipes use spigot-and-socket joints with rubber sealing rings. This joint system provides watertight connections throughout the drainage network, accommodates minor misalignment during installation and allows for minor differential settlement without joint failure.
Himalaya supplies NP2 pipes from 100mm to 1200mm diameter, NP3 from 150mm to 2200mm and NP4 in diameters up to 2200mm, covering the complete range of urban drainage and large-scale highway infrastructure requirements.
Yes. Himalaya NP3 and NP4 class hume pipes are widely used in NHAI national highway culverts and state highway drainage projects. NP4 pipes specifically comply with IRC and MORTH guidelines for major highway culvert applications.
